First PGI Marostica cherries arrive on the market.
Ten days ahead of the usual schedule, the first PGI Marostica cherries have arrived on the market of Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza). With good weather, production looks excellent. Harvests begin with
the Sandre variety, then the Bigarreau and Rita.
Growing demand for PGI seems to reassure consumers. Cherry production in the hills of Marostica is about 7,000 quintals.
