Bestack offers codification for sustainable packaging

Bestack believes that environmental communication should be developed and will give added value.

Environmental communication is the new value-added extra for packaging.

Bestack, the Italian consortium of corrugated packaging for fruit and vegetables is offering codification for green packaging. This new classification will differentiate Italian products in international markets.

To develop this, Bestack in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano,

provides producers of fruits and vegetables a computer system with 5 encoding logos:

- Kilometres,

- Use of non-renewable resources

- Emissions of greenhouse gases,

- Percentage of recyclability

- Water consumption.
