Ben-Dor fruit presents new apricot varieties

The Israeli company Ben-Dor is specialized in new varieties development, registered varieties and marketing of new stone fruit cultivars.
The new apricot varieties available at the moment are: Aromacot, Peachcot, Blackot, Tiger, Whitecot and some late varieties.
The White Apricot is a very pale whitish-beige with a pink blush. The Whitecot ripens from the beginning to the middle of the apricot season. The quality of this variety is expressed in its sweet taste.
Ben-Dor currently has one variety in the observation field and several varieties that were planted commercially just this year.
The aim is to create a line that continues through the apricot season and extend the shelf life of the white apricots.
Another goal is to increase the variety of apricots on the shelf, as well as export potential.
The variety that will open the new group and reach the shelves this year for the first time is the DM 14-1 (as yet unnamed – suggestions are welcome).
