Spain's fruit and vegetable exports to its key destinations on the rise

Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands continue to be the main recipients.
At the beginning of 2025, Spanish fruit and vegetable exports increased in its main markets. In January, international sales reached 1,940 million euros, 11% more than in the same month of the previous year. Of that total, 81% was destined for European Union countries, with 1,569 million euros, according to data from the Customs and Excise Department.
By value, Germany topped the destinations with 581 million euros, a year-on-year increase of 14%. It was followed by France with 298 million (+9%), the United Kingdom with 253 million (+8%) and the Netherlands with 175 million (+11%).
In terms of volume, 1.2 million tons were exported, 7% more than in January 2024. The European Union accounted for 83% of this total, with Germany and France registering increases of 9%, the United Kingdom 6% and the Netherlands 7%.
