The hail ravaged producing areas of blueberries and will weigh on the volume of exports.
The producers advance the figure to 2 million pounds of fruits lost due to hail.
Catastrophic hail hit producing areas of blueberries. Apama (Asociación de Productores Arándanos of the Mesopotamia Argentina) estimates that the damages can be measured at nearly 50% of production in certain regions.
Affected regions: Yuquerí, Villa Zorraquín, Osvaldo Magnasco, Colonia Roca, Concordia. The producers predict a shortage of at least 2 million pounds of blueberries. They do not know if the remaining fruits will be of enough good quality for export.
