Makossa, the new brand of the Cameroonian bananas dashes into the European markets.
New mark on the European market: Makossa Banana, the banana 100 % Cameroonian.
By creating Makossa Banana, the Cameroon Development Corporation ( CDC ) hopes for a commercial success to assure the development at the international.
The culture of the banana occupies 7 000 hectares and the CDC plans 2 000 hectares more in the next 2 years.
The objective is to reach a 90.000 tons volume exported before 3 years. The marketing will be made in 75 % by means of the mass-market retailing and in 25 % by that of the wholesalers.
Makossa Banana is marketed in France by the UGPBAN, the cooperative which groups together the West Indian producers.
