Abrafrutas attributes the strong results to coordinated efforts in market access, sanitary negotiations, trade defense and international promotion.
Brazil’s fruit export sector reached a new historic high in 2025, marking the third consecutive year of record performance, the Brazilian Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters (Abrafrutas) reported. Exports totalled US $1.45 billion, reflecting a 12% increase in value and a 19.6% rise in volume compared with 2024.
The result solidifies fruticulture as one of the most dynamic segments of Brazilian agribusiness and underscores positive prospects for 2026, particularly amid progress in the Mercosur-European Union trade agreement, which is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Brazilian produce abroad.
Mangoes continued to lead Brazil’s fruit exports, with shipments rising over the year despite some pressure on prices. Melon exports also performed well, backed by stronger values, while lemons and limes recorded more modest growth. Grape volumes increased but export returns eased slightly, and watermelon stood out as one of the strongest-growing categories.
