Australia estimates that it will produce 85,000 tons of almonds by 2017 and forecast 135,000 tons by 2025.
The Australian almond crop of 2017 will be the largest ever recorded.
ALMOND BOARD OF AUSTRALIA expects production of 85,000 tons next year. This represents an increase of about 5 000 tonnes from the previous harvest and 3 000 tonnes more than in 2015.
This strong increase can be explained by the introduction of thousands of new trees. Other new orchards will also enter production and by 2025 Australian production could total 135,000 tons of almonds.
Australian professionals are planning to expand their export markets with these new volumes to meet the sustained and rapidly growing demand around the world. The consumption of almonds continues to grow, more and more products use the almond as an ingredient and snacking is developing.
