The season for early spring potatoes failed

Cold winter and long lasting rains made that the expected crops of early potatoes in Mediterranean countries will be smaller than last year.
In southern Italy due to late vegetation and losses in infrastructure the crops of potatoes will be 30% smaller than in previous season.
From Morocco, from all free contingent of 134.000 tons destined to German market, till the beginning of April arrived only 6.000 tons comparing to previous season when there was 25.000 tons of potatoes.
The volume of potatoes that are carried to the market from Tunisia, Egypt and Israel are also smaller than last year.
