A new refrigerated storage area will facilitate exports of perishable products to the Middle East and Europe.
The Middle East and later Europe will be the destination.
A Mekelle (700 kms north of Addis Ababa) the Alula Aba Nega international airport will commission its new refrigerated storage area. Construction has taken two years and it will open in June. With a capacity of 150 tons, it will export perishable products like fruits, vegetables and flowers
.
The main destination of these exports will be the Middle East. The airports in Jeddah and Dubai in particular. The frequency of flights will be determined by demand and Ethiopian Airlines announced that they plan to extend this service to Europe.
