Onions price goes down in Ukraine

As per latest data, prices for onions have 2 times dropped down during last week in Ukraine. At the current moment, farmers are ready to ship this kind of vegetables at around 0,13 – 0,16 EURO/kg, while last week prices for onions comprised not less than 0,19 EURO/kg. According to local specialists, this price drop was mainly triggered by increasing of offer, while demand from Ukrainian consumers’ side remained quite weak. Statistics shows that current year prices are much lower comparing to the previous season figures. Due to official data, 2013 season onions costs were 2 – 2,6 times higher than this year numbers.
