Europe: development of organic horticulture in Europe

The farming in hectares of bio fruits in chosen European countries in year 2007 was following:

53.800 hectares of bio fruits orchards in Spain,

Poland 48.500 hectares,

Italy 46.400 hectares,

France 13.200 hectares,

Portugal 6.800 hectares,

Germany 6.400

and Lithuania 5.600 hectares.

 

On the whole, in European Community in year 2001 there were

66 bio fruit hectares for 1000 hectares of planted fruits

and in 2007 there were as much as 211 organic fruit hectares for 1000 hectares of all fruits orchards.
