Presentation of Giropoma which becomes the most important distributor of Spain apples.
Two producing companies of apples in Girona merged to give birth to Giropoma.
Fructícola Empordà and Costa Brava Fructicultors, which already worked in partnership, presented on July 1st their new trademark Giropoma.
Giropoma becomes the most important apples distributor of Spain with more than 40.000 tons of apples, among which 30.000 tons are eligible in conformance with IGP Poma de Girona, 1.200 tons of pears and 800 tons of peaches and nectarines.
70 % of this tonnage will be sold on the internal market and 30 % will be exported, mainly in England, France, Portugal, Belgium and United Arab Emirates. The group wishes to increase quickly its exports by the implementation of a global strategy.
