The family farms of Casma, Huarmey and Santa, represented by the Agrarian Health Committees and Senasa, began the 2021 mango export campaign in the Ancash region and forecast to export more than 30.000 tons of mango to 18 international destinations.
Before the beginning of the campaign, Senasa and the Agrarian Health Committees determined a coordination system to certify the cultivation areas and avoid crowds in the care centers.
César de la Cruz, General Director of Plant Health at Senasa, stressed the importance of joint efforts to eradicate fruit flies.
The Agrarian Health Committees specified that they also began the certification of 2 packaging plants, 6 hydrothermal treatment plants, and 8 primary processing plants.
They also assured that this year, to avoid delays and saturation of the service, a team of specialists has been set up to focus solely on the certification of the production areas, so that the producers are served on time.
During the 2019-2020 season, they exported 26.732 tons of mango from 3.463 places of production, with shipments mainly to Europe and Asia standing out.
