On the recent PotatoEurope 2017 held in Emmeloord (Netherlands), TOMRA presented its solutions, including the FPS (Field Potato Sorter), a robust, high-capacity sorting machine designed to separate foreign materials from unwashed potatoes.
Demonstrations have confirmed to the public that the use of FPS, which thanks to its sensor system accurately separates foreign materials (clods, stones, wood residues, bone, plastic, metal, rubber ... ) of potatoes, can reduce labor costs by up to 80%.
FPS uses NIR (Near Infra-Red) multi-spectral sensors to analyze each individual element, enabling extreme precision and high capacity to sort large volumes. FPS treats unwashed potatoes of various varieties (white, brown, yellow, red, violet).
