Banana is the most exported fruit in the world (USD 10 billion per year), it is an essential source of income and employment for producing countries but also has many problems that can only be solved if all stakeholders actively collaborate.
The World Banana Forum (BWF) is an area where the main stakeholders in the sector work together to find a global consensus on good practices for sustainable banana production and trade. The BKW brings together distributors, importer and exporter groups, producers, consumer associations, governments, research institutions, trade unions and civil society organizations to find pragmatic solutions to improve the sector.
The 3rd Conference is taking place at the CICG in Geneva (Switzerland) on the 8th and 9th of November and focuses on global collaboration, trade and technical issues in banana production and marketing. Participation in the conference is free.
