The Belgian Pear Conference continues its conquest of the world

Belgium presents ideal conditions for Conference pears, which account for 90% of the country's total pear production.
After China, Canada and Brazil, it is now in Vietnam that the pear conference Belgian can sell.
The pear Conference was just presented in Vietnam during an economic mission and after 3 years of negotiations the first cargo should arrive in Vietnam in October.
"Pear should become for us what the kiwi is for New Zealand," says Filip Appeltans, the secretary general of the Federation of Belgian Horticultural Cooperatives (Verbond van Belgische Tuinbouwcoöperaties).
In Belgium pear production last year totaled nearly 350 000 tonnes. The Conference variety accounts for nearly 90% of total pear production.
