New record in sight for cherry exports

This 2017/18 campaign will be a historic campaign for Chile, far exceeding the threshold of 20 million cartons of cherries exported (record of the 2014/15 campaign) but also the one, never reached, of the 30 million boxes.
ASOEX announces that the threshold of 20 million boxes of cherries exported is largely exceeded. In December 2017, exports reached 27 million cartons of cherries exported and at the end of December the 30 million cartons were reached, the equivalent of 150 000 tons of cherries exported.
The previous record dates back to the 2014/15 season with 21,750,157 cartons representing 103,081 tonnes. According to ASOEX, Chile will be able to supply cherries to the Chinese market beyond the New Year this year, which will be celebrated on 16 February.
