Prices for Belgium pears grow in Russia

According to the latest news, current prices for pears imported from Belgium are 10-16% higher comparing to April 2014 numbers. “Conference” is recorded to be the most popular variety of pears in Russia. Prices for this kind of pears delivered from Belgium have grown up to 0,1 – 1,24 EUROkg during last 2 weeks. At the same time the most low cost pears are Packham’s Triumph. Belgium comes second after Netherlands among the biggest countries-suppliers of pears to domestic fruit market of Russia. Due to official data, Belgium has exported around 50 000 tons of pears (20% of imported fruits) to Russian market within July 2013 – Mart 2014 period.
