Cranberry increases life expectancy

New advantage discovered for cranberry : the small red berry promotes longevity.
A team of researchers from the Institute of aging in Baltimore has recently completed a study. The results will be published in the journal Experimental Gerontology but the conclusions are already released, particularly by the Wall Street Journal.
The cranberry is an asset of longevity. The scientists fed small flies (Drosophila) with sugar enriched by 2% of extract of cranberry several times in their life. Those who consumed cranberry lived 25 to 30% longer than the flies in the control group who received a diet without cranberry.
By studying these proteins present in the brains of flies, the researchers found that flies fed with cranberry had less cellular damages caused by stress and the environment.
