Good perspectives for exports of potatoes

Pakistan plans to increase its exports of potatoes.

After 2 years of low production and thus lower exports, Pakistan has the best perspectives. According to governmental sources, the production of potatoes is estimated at 4 million tons (500 000 tons more than the previous year), which will lead to an increase in exports.

The foreign demand is strong, Pakistani exporters are optimistic and expect that Russia restarts its imports shortly. The main markets for potatoes of Pakistan remain the states of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, UAE and Russia.
