Japanese exports continue to fall

Japanese exports of fruits and vegetables continue to fall. Exports of potatoes fell by 85.8%.
The consequences of the March 11 disaster haven’t ended for Japan, which continues to record a decline in exports of agricultural products.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, exports fell 14.7% in April and 9.8% in May. The decline is even more severe for marine products plunging 29.6%.
But there are large variations depending on the product. Exports of strawberries, usually shipped to Hong Kong, dropped to 0 after generating 1.7 million yen last year. Apple exports fell 85.8%.
