ELSTAR apple harvests began in Rhineland

 ELSTAR , the variety of the most popular apples in Germany, has just started its season in the Rhineland.

The apple crop ELSTAR began in the Rhineland region. In accordance with the schedule, according to the Association of Rhenish farmers (Bonn) , for this variety suitable for long term storage . ELSTAR under optimal storage conditions can be stored until April.

ELSTAR is a hybrid apple of 2 varieties ' Golden Delicious ' and ' Ingrid Marie " and was created in 1955 in the Netherlands .
