The future is bright for the apple sector

New very good year for apples' export that will set a record for the third consecutive year.

This year apple exports are expected to reach 700 million NZD in sales , an increase of 5.5 % compared to 2015. Despite hailstorms that devastated some producing regions , exports increased due to growth of production and various marketing improvements , which together have strengthened market share internationally .

According to professionals, who plan is to grow apples for the sector to reach NZD 1 billion of exports in 2022 will be easily achievable.
