Panama Canal to increase daily transits from January onwards

The Panama Canal announces in its 'Advisory to Shipping No. A-54-2023' that it will increase the number of daily transits to 24 from January 16, 2024 (Photos: simple.wikipedia.org-pancanal.com).
Last October, the Panama Canal decided to set the number of daily transits at 22 in December 2023, 20 in January 2024 and 18 in February 2024.
In view of the less unfavorable than expected rainfall and lake levels, and the positive results of water-saving measures, the Panama Canal is suspending the decisions it made in 'Advisory to Shipping No. A-48-2023' on October 30.
The Panama Canal announces in its 'Advisory to Shipping No. A-54-2023' to increase the number of daily transits to 24 from January 16, 2024.
These new measures will remain in force until conditions justify changes.
