Work on the new conditioning platform, Sica Saint Pol de Leon Kermorus, which started one month ago, has been stopped by court order after court judge has provisionally suspended authorisation.
At the entrance of Saint-Pol-de-Leon a building covering seven hectares was to be built on a plot of 18 hectares, located near the mansion Kermorus - classified as a historical monument.
Opponents of the project filed a lawsuit and the judge suspended the construction permit finding that the local development plan (PLU) was not yet approved by the municipality.
SICA has replied that as it was
aware of the possible harmful effects of its platform, it opted for a field outside the city and obtained a waiver signed by the prefect. The decision by the judge is provisional pending the final hearing to be held during the first half of 2012.
