Compac offers a new decision for delicate fruits packaging.

Compac, part of the TOMRA Food family, is happy to reveal to their customers the new-generation Gentle Box Filler+ model developed specifically for the most fragile products.
The new Gentle Box Filler+ (GBF+) platform holds Compac's original design and further improves its throughput with extra automation components.
It gently puts the fruit into the bottom of the package and uses vibration to settle it delicately, avoiding damages while filling it. This tool is perfect for products which bruise easily (stone fruit or kiwi), as well as the repacked and ripe production.
Paul Ramson, Director, Solutions Architecture Product Management at Compac says that they owe their continued success to the Compac's GBF original design that provides the gentlest filling that is available on the market.
Thanks to the GBF+ it became possible to double the productivity – with no compromise on the quality of the product. The tool has been tested extensively in-house and validated in a 10-filler installation at a New Zealand packhouse.
Now, due to the high throughput, a packer doesn’t need that many outlets to achieve the volume of packout, so the sizer doesn't require as much length anymore, resulting in a smaller footprint. This gives the packhouse more flexibility to vary the product line to meet consumer demand. This will provide obvious financial advantages for the packer, as the initial investment in equipment will be smaller, and fewer people will be involved.
The Gentle Box Filler+ can be easily integrated with the customer's upstream and downstream materials handling equipment, together with Compac's systems to provide full pack and batch traceability.
The new GBF+ enables Compac to match the solution to the packhouse's specific requirements precisely by extending their offering of box fillers. It has the in-house expertise to advise on the best model for the fruit type, box size, size and grade being packed. Such consultative engagement is the key component of the added value Compac offers to their customers.
