Zespri has announced a new variety, Gold3, which shows a good level of resistance to PSA.
PSA disease has affected nearly 40% of kiwifruit orchards in New Zealand.
Zespri has great hopes on a new strain of Kiwi gold which shows a good level of resistance to PSA. Zespri will give holders of grape growers Hort 16A, affected by the bacteria
PSA, licenses for the new Gold3 variety.
Zespri announced that this option for producers is not without risk. But based on current knowledge, Zespri says it is very confident that this new variety could pull the industry our of the PSA nightmare.
