Ukraine has increased apples import volumes in March

Despite record yield of apples in 201415 season, Ukraine keeps increasing import volumes of this kind of fruits from other countries. Based on the recent data Ukraine has imported 2 times more apples in March 2015 comparing to the previous year volumes. The amount  of apples delivered to the local market of Ukraine in March 2015 has gone up to 15 000 tons. Basically the total volume of apples imported to Ukrainian fruits market during July - March period comprised 48 000 tons, this figure is 4 times higher comparing to the last season number. It stands to mention that all the fruits were mainly imported from Poland and Moldova. According to the local specialists, growth of apples import volumes could be traced to increase of fruits re-exporting paces. At the same time due to local currency devaluation domestic consuming capacity has nosedived at all times low.
