The avocado crop is smaller than forecasted

The Chilean Avocado Importers Association (CAIA) forecast a smaller avocado crop for the 2010-2011 season than originally projected.
According to new projections, the crop should be identical as the 2008-2009 season.
This decrease of production is due to lack of rain and a cold late spring. 100 to 120 million pounds of Chilean Hass avocados will be exported.
