Higher prices push up Peru’s apple import value while volumes stay flat

Chile remains Peru’s main supplier.
Peru’s apple imports in 2025 were almost unchanged in volume but higher in value year-on-year, according to Agrodata.
Total imports reached 39,037 tonnes, slightly below the 39,290 tonnes imported in 2024 (-1%). Import value, however, increased to US$51.0 million, up from US$47.3 million a year earlier, as average prices moved higher.
Chile remained Peru’s main supplier, shipping 22,404 tonnes worth US$24.9 million. Still, volumes from Chile dropped from 26,604 tonnes in 2024, reducing its share from 59% to 49%. The average price stood at US$1.11/kg.
The United States gained share, supplying 13,924 tonnes valued at US$22.9 million. Its participation rose to 45% of total import value (38% in 2024), with the highest average price among key origins at US$1.65/kg.
Argentina increased shipments to 2,512 tonnes (US$2.9 million), doubling its share to 6%. Smaller volumes arrived from Portugal and other suppliers.
