1st promotional campaign in the United States for the kiwifruit of Chile.
In Chile the kiwi season has started and this year the sector will implement its first promotional campaign in the United States.
The campaign is organized by the Kiwi Committee, ProChile, and ASOEX (Asociación de Exportadores de Frutas de Chile). It will run from June to September.
The campaign is based on participation in events (West Coast Produce Expo, PMA Foodservice Expo, Fresh Produce & Floral Council Expo ...), TV shows and a strong presence through social networks.
To date, Chile has sent nearly 11,000 tonnes of kiwifruit to the US market. This 2019 season promises exceptional kiwifruit, due to greater dry matter of the fruit, which, according to the indication of the Kiwi Committee reaches historically high levels. There is a direct link between the dry matter and the sweetness of the fruit. Professionals are confident, the dry matter seen this year will be appreciated by American consumers who should increase their purchases of Chilean kiwis.
