Spain outraged by suspicions

Spain describes the suspicions cast on its cucumbers as causing ‘irreparable damage’.

After the death of 13 people in Germany, Spanish cucumbers has been singled out as solely responsible for the epidemic, while the origin of the contamination could come from the distribution chain.

No outbreaks have occurred in Spain with all concentrated in Germany and from people who have stayed in Germany.

The Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Rosa Aguilar believes that the image of Spain has been harmed and the country is not prepared to accept this situation.
