The guidelines consolidate current regulatory parameters used by the sector to manage postharvest risks.
Argentina’s agricultural authorities have published the updated list of approved phytosanitary products for postharvest use ahead of the 2025–2026 fruit season, providing technical guidance for the handling of fresh produce after harvest.
The document outlines the products authorised for postharvest treatment of apples and pears, which are mainly used to control storage diseases and preserve fruit quality during storage and export. It also sets out the applicable conditions of use to ensure compliance with food safety requirements.
The updated list is aligned with current maximum residue limits (MRLs), supporting exporters and packhouse operators in meeting international market standards. The guidelines are intended to promote consistent postharvest practices across the sector while safeguarding product quality throughout the supply chain.
