INTERPERA aims to bring together producers, marketers and international players in the sector around technical and economic issues such as, among other things, recent developments and the prospects for pear production.
The first day (June 23) will be devoted to visits to different orchards, businesses and an experimental station in Betuwe, the fruit-growing area in central Netherlands, to study pear varieties, research and packaging facilities.
The main conference will take place on June 24. The first part will be devoted to market developments, with the communication of summer pear harvest forecasts, trends and prospects for the world market. Then 2 other themes will be discussed: sustainability and consumption. In the afternoon, the focus will be on technical issues such as pear varieties, research and innovation.
Sharing experiences is an essential point of INTERPERA congresses, round tables will allow participants to discuss the challenges of pear production.
For the 3rd day (June 25), the INTERPERA organizers are joining forces with Pear Day, in Krabbendijke in the south-west of the Netherlands. Over 1,000 local and international visitors, arborists, technicians and sector partners are expected to share their knowledge on production, innovation, crop protection, fertilization and sales.
The detailed program, prices and registrations will be available in January 2020.
