Marks & Spencer will open food stores

Ten years after its departure, the British retailer Marks & Spencer will be back in France by developing a new strategy.

The group announced the opening of a department store (textiles, food product) on the Champs-Elysees by the end of the year. A website will be available in French and will offer no fewer than 10,000 references.

The distributor is in talks with SSP, one of its British partners franchisees to open several grocery stores under the brand Marks & Spencer Simply Food "in and around Paris.

The opening of 5 "Simply Food" stores would be ready within 3 years. These outlets, with an area of around 300 m2, would offer sandwiches, prepared meals and fresh produce and would be in direct competition with the store Daily Monop (Monoprix).
