Mexican avocado shipments peak during Super Bowl demand window

The Super Bowl remains the single biggest annual consumption moment for Mexican avocados in the U.S.
Mexican avocado exports to the United States are moving through their busiest stretch of the year, with volumes surging in the weeks surrounding Super Bowl demand.
Data from the Association of Avocado Exporting Producers and Packers of Mexico (APEAM) shows shipments for the four-week promotional window are projected at 127,000 tonnes, marking an 11% increase year on year and the largest programme ever linked to the event.
Supply is being led by Michoacán, accounting for 88% of export volume, while Jalisco contributes the remaining 12%, supported by favourable weather patterns and stable orchard conditions this season.
Alongside the export push, the industry continues to advance sustainability work, including a regional reforestation campaign covering 650,000 trees and expanded certification and traceability programmes tied to export supply.
