Good prospect for plum production in Switzerland where professionals expect a crop 12% higher than the average of the last 5 years.
The Fruit-Union Switzerland organization expects a volume of 3,650 tons of plums, which is 12% higher than the average of the last 5 years.
Plums and prunes are grown in Switzerland on more than 322 hectares, particularly in the northwest, which is one of the main production areas.
In Switzerland, the plum season begins in July and may last until mid-October, depending on weather conditions.
