Mango volumes surge in Peru, prices drop
VU
The United States and the Netherlands were the main destinations for Peruvian mango in 2025.
Peru’s mango exports fell slightly in value in 2025, even though shipment volumes increased.
Total exports of fresh and dried mangoes reached US$354.7m FOB, down 2% from US$361.6m in 2024, reports Agrodata. At the same time, export volumes rose strongly, increasing 32% year on year to 257.1m kg, compared with 195.1m kg the previous season.
Lower prices explain the difference. The average export price dropped to US$1.38 per kilo, from US$1.85/kg in 2024. This 26% fall in prices reduced export earnings despite the higher volumes shipped.
The United States was Peru’s main market, taking 34% of total export value. The Netherlands followed with 27%, while Spain accounted for 9%. Other destinations included the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico and South Korea, with smaller volumes shipped to France, Chile, Russia and Belgium.
