Bonduelle aims to agriculture more environmentally friendly

More sustainable farming methods and new practices: Bonduelle, the European leader in vegetables, is moving towards greener farming. The company wants to reduce CO2 emissions and continue to lower the consumption of pesticides. Declining started for thirty years, and estimated to reach 20% between 2011 and 2015.
Bonduelle has experienced alternative methods to reduce the use of chemicals: crop rotation, which reduces the pressure of pests (insects, diseases); a mode of "integrated" production, which promotes the use of agricultural production methods respectful of nature; more effective management of water resources.
The tests at its own farms have demonstrated the validity of these methods. To extend them, Bonduelle creates model farms in its main producing areas and encourages its suppliers to adopt them. For the first time, there will be environmental clauses on production contracts.
