The hazelnut harvest began in Ordu

After the official controls performed in 14 provinces representing 99.2 percent of all Turkish hazelnut production, the 2013 harvest was estimated at about 480 000 tonnes. The producers hope that the production is less important, the price will be better this year.

 

In 2012, Turkey exported about 266,000 tons of hazelnuts to 100 different importing countries. The largest importing country is Germany, with appr. 56,000 tons of import, followed closely by Italy, with approx. 50,000 tons and France, with some 31,000 tonnes. Poland follows away with 10,000 tons of imports.
