MACFRUT DIRECT - Italian Agriculture Minister inaugurates the exhibition

The Agriculture Minister, Maurizio Martina, has just inaugurated Macfrut.

The presence of the minister is not limited to a simple ribbon cutting, but once again it confirms the operativity of the Cesena international trade fair and its ability to represent the entire fruit and vegetable sector at national level.

Welcomed by Domenico Scarpellini - President of Cesena Fiera and "soul" of Macfrut - and the Mayor of Cesena, The Minister noted with interest the various stands, pausing with many operators and catching the live moods of the industry professionals.

The current economic climate is delicate, and the Russian embargo on food has upset the fruit and vegetable markets. Spending on fruits and vegetables of the Italians also fell by 7.6% compared to the first half of 2010, but to raise the situation of the first half of 2014 it was the exotic fruit (+20,3%).
