Implementation will prioritise market education and category awareness.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded $513,948 to the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) to support the expansion of U.S. blueberry exports in key growth markets.
The funding, provided through USDA’s Market Access Program (MAP), will back promotional and market development activities focused on Asia and Mexico. The programme is designed to help U.S. agricultural sectors strengthen their presence overseas through coordinated branding, consumer outreach and trade engagement.
According to USDA programme details, MAP operates as a cost-share scheme that enables industry organisations to build demand and improve competitiveness in international markets.
For the blueberry sector, the allocation supports ongoing efforts to expand export volumes and consolidate market share in destinations where consumption continues to grow.
