This international fair, which focuses on the food and beverage sectors, is one of the most important in the Asia-Pacific region. It has received 77,000 visitors for 3,177 exhibitors in 2016. In 2017, it will take place in Chiba, Japan, at Makuhari Messe for the 42nd time.
In 2014, İzmir had hosted the fair and it was the Aegean Union of Exporters that would be responsible for organizing the participation of Turkish exhibitors under a national flag. The Far East market is full of opportunities for Turkish products.
Turkish promotion groups, in particular dried fruits, olives and olive oils, have launched an extensive campaign in high-standard Asian countries, such as South Korea, to promote Turkish Populations whose dietary habits are completely different.
In terms of the Japanese market, Japan imports $80 billion in food products.
Turkey has succeeded in increasing its market share in this part of the world and therefore its participation in this fair is essential.
