The rise comes despite a slight decline in lemon yields
Tunisia’s citrus production is projected to grow by 5.2% to 365,000 tons in the 2024/2025 season, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Key citrus yields include 89,500 tons of Maltese oranges, 117,300 tons of Thomson Navel oranges, 78,900 tons of clementines, and 53,000 tons of lemons — though lemon output has dipped by 3.6%.
Exports also grew, with Tunisia shipping 8,510 tons of citrus in the 2023/2024 season, primarily Maltese oranges, which rose 11.8% from the previous year.
Export earnings increased by 15.5%, reaching 25.460 million dinars (around USD 8 million).
