The Israeli production of vegetables has decreased by 14%.
In 2010, the Israeli production of vegetables has decreased compared to the previous year.
According to figures published by the Israel Institute of Statistics, the production of vegetables decreased by 14%. This decline in production has pushed up prices, which rose 16% in 2010 (in 2009 the increase was 8.4%).
This decline in production has affected exports, which fell 2% in 2010 after rising 10% in 2009. Tomatoes have suffered most from the decline in production and exports show a decrease of 23% compared to 2009.
