India will import citrus and mangoes from Israel

To improve agricultural production, the Indian province of Haryana has decided to import high yielding varieties from Israel.
In Israel, the Indian Minister has visited the orchards of citrus and mangoes in the company of agricultural experts. The citrus orchard visited gets an average yield of 80 tons per hectare (10-16 tons per ha in India), the orchard of mangoes offers 30-35 tons per hectare (8-12 tons in India).
Very impressed with these products obtained by high-yielding varieties and good agricultural practices, the Minister asked to import all varieties which could be suitable for the province of Haryana. The delegation said it would broaden the base of cooperation between the two countries and will begin importing these high-yielding varieties.
