The pear harvest is satisfactory

In Switzerland the pear crop is not yet finished but the 2019 production is satisfactory and will allow to exceed the expected levels of the stocks.

 

 

 

According to Swisscofel, the harvest volume of 2019 is almost comparable to that of 2018 with 13,384 tonnes. The pear stock survey carried out at the end of September revealed a stock level of 13 845 tonnes.

 

 

 

The pear crops are not finished yet. Based on current stocks and expected pears, the level of target stocks will be exceeded by the end of October.

 

 

 

As for the production of organic pears, 2019 volumes are better than expected. An initial estimate indicated about 550 tonnes for this 2019 crop. By the end of September, about 790 tonnes of organic pears had already been stored.
