Italian kiwifruit production is less than 2011 except in the Verona area.
There is a general decline in forecase production in Italy except in the Verona area.
Production estimates are down 25% for Italy except for the Verona area. CSO (Centro servizi ortofrutticoli) estimates an increase of 20% in terms of growing area to ??2,244 hectares. This forecast was announced at a conference
on the production of kiwifruit in Veronamercato.
This year, in the northern hemisphere, only Greece will and increase in production (+ 5%), along with California (+15%) compared to 2011. Other countries will all fall (Korea -25%, Portugal -10%, Spain -17% and France -8%.
