Peru’s passion fruit sector shows strong growth in 2025

Peruvian passion fruit exports are bouncing back strongly in 2025, reaching US$ 40 million between January and June, a 36% rise compared to the same period last year, according to the exporters’ association ADEX. This growth contrasts with 2024, when shipments of the fruit fell by nearly 11% over the full year.
The Netherlands remained the top buyer with US$ 16.6 million (41.5% share), serving as the main entry point to Europe. Other key markets were the United States (US$ 8.1 million), France (US$ 4.2 million), Chile (US$ 3.8 million), Puerto Rico (US$ 1.1 million), and Italy (US$ 1 million), all showing double-digit growth.
In terms of product type, passion fruit juice led exports with more than half of the total value (US$ 20.4 million, +36%). It was followed by concentrate (US$ 11.4 million, +28%) and pulp (US$ 6.4 million, +60%), reflecting solid demand across multiple formats.
